Prime Minister Modi’s government has taken the historic step of embracing urbanization as a win-win proposition. These programmatic interventions place a premium on climate resilience and green growth. One example of India’s efforts towards sustainable urban development is that of installing rainwater-harvesting systems; expanding green spaces through a plantation drive; and source segregation of household waste, in 103 government colonies across the country in just 100 days. The objective of this initiative is to act as a catalyst and encourage government and private localities across the country to make their contribution towards cleaner and greener cities. Sustainability, after all, begins at home
